The following video shows how to gather fabric by pulling two threads. The method is simple yet very effective, and is used in many types of garment.
The process is simple, stitch two parallel lines using longest stitch steps 1/2 and 1/4 inch from the edge of fabric, leaving long thread tails at the end. Gently pull the lower threads to gather fabric until you get your desired gathering amount.
