It has been quite a long time since my last post, and I am so sorry my friends for I have been too busy with my work recently. Handling a small business is not easy at all, and it takes me hours working on smallest details to keep it running. I really miss the days when I still worked for someone else – just do your work, and you are free when you get home! Of course, there are advantages to running your own business, and I still love what I do – a small business owner. I just wish that I can save some time for my hobby – designing and making patterns.
As I do not have much time every day, and my mind is always full of ideas, I tend to sketch the ideas that sometimes flash up – because I am afraid that I will forget them with the workload that I need to take care of. I only spend about 5 minutes for a simple sketch – and if I am happy with it, I will continue working on it when I have time. For better saving my time on sketching, I even have a set of croquis templates in hand. Just take out a croquis and then draw more details of the dress, skirt or blouse that just appears in my mind, and I will have the initial sketch for my design.
So what exactly is a fashion croquis? Croquis means “sketch” in French. In the world of fashion design, a croquis is a quick sketch of a fashion figure. Croquis drawings are minimalist in style and serve as a blank canvas for drawing clothing. Designers use croquis to quickly put their ideas on paper. You can draw right on our croquis, but most designers print them out and draw their ideas on one or more sheets of tracing paper laid on top of the croquis.
I believe many of us have ideas ready in our minds, but some are reluctant to draw, because they are not skilled at drawing. The croquis templates really help! You don’t need to be a real designer to draw your own dress!
I am sharing today my set of 49 croquis templates. They are all 9-head female figures, with various poses. If you are interested in these croquis templates, just scroll down to the end and download the pdf file for your personal use!
NOTE: I am sharing these free fashion croquis templates just for personal use. Please do not use it for commercial purpose without my permission. Thank you!
Now let’s start sketching!
I also put them up into a PDF file, and you can download it here: Tiana’s Closet female fashion croquis templates
Enjoy sketching!
I really enjoy using your patterns. I started off with your fitted facemasks. Then I saw the pattern for the sleepset. The simple top was just what I have been looking for and it was very easy to print off in the correct size. I bought one before in linen and decided that I wanted some more and could easily make them, so the pattern is perfect. Thank you very much.
