SEWING INSTRUCTION

PATTERN PIECES
The pattern pieces are as follows:
- Front: cut 1 piece
- Back: cut 1 piece
- Overlay Flap: cut 1 piece
- Neck Binding: cut 1 piece
- Armhole Binding: cut 2 pieces
- Tie Strap: cut 2 pieces
SEAM ALLOWANCE
- All seams: 1cm (3/8”)
- Seam allowance has been included in the pattern pieces. Cut pattern as is and use the above-mentioned seam allowance when constructing the garment.
CUTTING INSTRUCTION
Place the pattern pieces on the fabric, pin the pattern pieces to the fabric to secure them in place. Using sharp scissors, carefully cut out the fabric pieces along the outer lines of the pattern. Take your time to ensure precise and clean cuts, as this will affect the fit and overall appearance of your garment.
Make sure to mark all notches and other design features such as darts, pleats, draw marks etc. from the pattern pieces onto your fabric. When sewing the garment, pay attention to notches, they must match up.
SEWING INSTRUCTION
1. Stabilize the edges
- Apply fusible stay tape on the wrong side of fabric, along the shoulder and the neckline seams of the garment to stabilize the fabric to prevent stretching.
- You can also use clear elastic to stabilize the seams.
2. Sew the tie straps
- Fold the tie strap piece lengthwise, and press to get a center crease.
- Fold the long edges of the tie strap to the center crease, wrong sides together, and press again.
- With the raw edge meeting at the center crease, fold the tie strap again, so that the two edges match.
- Topstitch along the edges to create a tie strap.
3. Finish the edges of the front flap
- Fold the straight edges of the front flap (the longest straight edge to the wrong side of fabric and topstitch.
- Place one tie strap at the pointed corner of the front flap, on the wrong side of fabric, and stitch it to attach to the end of the front flap.
4. Sew the front of the garment
- Fold the hem of the Front piece to the wrong side of fabric and topstitch to finish the hem.
- Place the other tie strap at the notch on the side seam at the right side of the Front garment. Baste to secure position.
- Place the Front piece on a flat surface, right side up. Place the front flap on top of the Front piece, also right side up. Match the top edge of the flap with the notch on the side seam of the left side of the Front piece. Baste along the overlapping edge of the side seam, catching both layers.
5. Finish the hem of the back garment
- Fold the hem of the Back piece to the wrong side of fabric and topstitch to finish the hem.
6. Sew the main garment
- Place the Front and Back garment right sides together, match the side seams and shoulder seams and stitch.
