This licence is intended for clothing brands and businesses that wish to use an existing Tiana’s Closet sewing pattern for production through a clothing manufacturer, factory, production studio, or other third-party sewing service.
The standard licence included with a regular pattern purchase permits personal use and small-scale, handmade production by the purchaser. It does not permit outsourced or manufacturer-based garment production.
This listing grants commercial manufacturing rights for one selected Tiana’s Closet sewing pattern and includes preparation of the pattern in one agreed DXF format.

What Is Included
Your purchase includes:
- A commercial manufacturing licence for one existing Tiana’s Closet sewing pattern
- Permission to produce and sell finished garments made from the licensed pattern
- Permission to use contracted clothing manufacturers for production
- One pattern package supplied in an agreed DXF format
- Nested sizes or separate files for each size, depending on your manufacturer’s requirements
- The sizes included in the original pattern
- Reasonable technical assistance if the delivered file does not open correctly in the manufacturer’s confirmed system
The licence is issued to one named individual, company, or clothing brand.
Licence Scope
This licence permits the named licence holder to:
- Manufacture finished garments from the licensed pattern
- Sell the finished garments through retail, wholesale, online marketplaces, or their own website
- Produce garments in-house or through contracted clothing manufacturers
- Share the production files with a contracted manufacturer when necessary to produce garments for the licensed business
- Make reasonable fit or production adjustments for the licence holder’s own garments
There is no limit on the number of finished garments that may be produced and sold by the named licensed business.
This licence is:
- Non-exclusive
- Non-transferable
- Valid for one sewing pattern only
- Valid only for the named individual, business, or brand
Tiana’s Closet retains all copyright and ownership of the original pattern and may continue selling or licensing the same design to other customers.
Manufacturer Use
The licence holder may provide the pattern files to contracted manufacturers solely for the purpose of producing finished garments for the licensed business or brand.
The manufacturer may not:
- Use the pattern for another customer or brand
- Produce garments from the pattern for its own business
- Sell, share, sublicense, or distribute the pattern files
- Retain or reuse the files for unrelated production
The licence holder is responsible for ensuring that any contracted manufacturer uses the files only for the permitted production.
Not Permitted
This licence does not permit:
- Reselling or redistributing the PDF, DXF, RUL, CAD, or other pattern files
- Sharing the pattern files with another clothing brand or unrelated business
- Transferring or sublicensing the licence
- Using the licence for more than one Tiana’s Closet pattern
- Selling the original pattern or a modified version as a sewing pattern
- Uploading the pattern files to websites, shared drives, marketplaces, or public platforms
- Claiming ownership or authorship of the original pattern
- Using the pattern to manufacture garments for other brands or clients
- Using the files to provide patternmaking, grading, or manufacturing services to third parties
Only finished physical garments may be sold.
Modifying the pattern does not transfer ownership of the original design and does not remove the modified version from the terms of this licence.
Production File
The licence includes one pattern package in an agreed DXF format.
Before purchasing, please ask your manufacturer to confirm:
- Required DXF standard, such as AAMA or ASTM
- Whether a RUL grading file is required
- Whether sizes should be nested or supplied separately
- Required measurement units
- Required seam allowances
- Any specific CAD-system compatibility requirements
The files will be prepared according to the technical specifications agreed upon before purchase.
Please note that requirements vary between manufacturers and apparel CAD systems. Compatibility cannot be guaranteed when the manufacturer’s technical requirements have not been confirmed in advance.
Not Included
This listing does not include:
- Drafting a new pattern
- Design modifications
- Fit adjustments
- Custom sizing
- Additional sizes or grading
- Sample sewing
- Tech-pack preparation
- Fabric consumption calculations
- Marker making
- Pattern digitization from a physical paper pattern
- Additional file formats not agreed upon before purchase
These services may be available for an additional fee.

- Nested sizes or separate size files
- Required DXF standard
- Whether a RUL file is required

The original sewing pattern must be purchased separately. This commercial licence does not include the regular printable PDF pattern unless specifically agreed otherwise.
Delivery
The completed production files will normally be delivered within 3–5 business days after:
- The licence has been purchased
- The original pattern purchase has been verified
- The buyer’s business information has been provided
- All technical file requirements have been confirmed
Delivery time may vary depending on the complexity of the pattern and the manufacturer’s file requirements.
Digital Product Terms
- This is a digital product; no physical item will be shipped.
- This licence applies to one sewing pattern only.
- Purchase does not provide exclusive rights to the design.
- Copyright and pattern ownership remain with Tiana’s Closet.
- The licence becomes valid after payment and confirmation of the licence holder’s information.
- The licence may be terminated if its terms are breached.
- Due to the customised and digital nature of this service, cancellations and refunds are not available once file preparation has begun.
- By purchasing this listing, the buyer confirms that they have read and accepted these commercial manufacturing licence terms.
